Crystal Windows Launches Magnus Series 4500 Commercial Vinyl Line

Crystal Windows Doors Magnus Series 4500 Tilt and Turn

Crystal Window & Door Systems has launched a new line of unplasticized polyvinyl chloride window and door products that combine European-inspired design with fusion-welded frames and sashes.

“The remarkable Magnus Series 4500 windows offer the best of both worlds: structural performance equal to top aluminum products while simultaneously providing the extraordinary thermal performance of vinyl windows,” the manufacturer says.

Ideal for multifamily rentals and condominiums, the products offer thermal performance up to 45 percent more efficient than comparable thermally broken windows, the company says, and can play a role in buildings seeking to qualify for LEED or Passive House certifications.

Magnus Series comes in a variety of window and door styles that are based on tight compression sealing. The flagship window of the line is the Series 4500 Tilt-and-Turn, an energy efficient vinyl window that is especially suitable for large openings in multi-family, select high-rise, and upscale residential properties, Crystal explains.

Able to span very tall or very wide openings, the Tilt-and-Turn offers (with the use of a single dual-action handle) the functionality of three windows—an in-swing casement, a safe top-venting hopper, and a securely sealed picture when closed. With options, the window can achieve PG70 ratings, STC sound attenuation levels up to 41 decibels, and thermal U-values as low as 0.20.

In addition to the Tilt-and-Turn windows, Magnus is available in hopper, in-swing turn only, and fixed picture windows. Doors come in tilt-slide and single swing or dual-sash French doors. All window and door products in the line feature 1⅜-inch glazing pockets that will accommodate double- or triple-pane insulated or monolithic glass.

Other features include 2⅜- or 3¼-inch frame depths, multi-point locks, sash perimeter compression seals, top quality hardware, and substantial sash reinforcement chambers, which is “important for large size or heavy commercial rated windows,” the brand says.

Three extruded colors are available—white, beige, and clay—as well as additional solid color and wood grain foil options. To facilitate new construction and retrofit installations in a variety of building types, optional nail fins and other accessories are available.
