A New Low-Cost Contractor Series LED Portfolio

Osram Sylvania has unveiled a new portfolio of low-cost products that are rated up to 11,000 hours at cost-effective price points for practically any socket.

Citing the high cost of LED lighting, Osram Sylvania has unveiled a new portfolio of low-cost products that are rated up to 11,000 hours at cost-effective price points for practically any socket.

The company says the products reduce energy and maintenance costs and have the traditional shape and warm colors that homeowners know and prefer.

“With our Sylvania Contractor Series LED Portfolio, electrical contractors can install cost-effective LED lighting throughout their customers’ homes and businesses that delivers quality light, lasts up to 11,000 hours, and saves money on electricity and maintenance,” Joe Calnan, product group marketing manager at OSRAM Sylvania, said in a statement announcing the launch.

The Contractor Series includes A19 LEDs that replace 40- and 60-watt traditional lamps but use only 6 watts and 8.5 watts. Offering instant-on capability, the lighting is available in both 2700K and 5000K color temperatures.

Other lighting in the collection includes 75- and 100-watt replacement A19 LED lamps; solutions for track lighting such as R20 (dimmable), MR16, PAR16, PAR20, PAR30, PAR30LN, and PAR38 LED lamps; and dimmable BR30 and BR40 lamps and RT5/6 LED recessed downlight kits for ceiling cans in various color temperatures. These products offer energy savings up to 88 percent compared to incandescent lamps, the company says.

“Many lighting companies are focused on inexpensive classic A19 LED lamps, but there are more than just A19s in homes and businesses though,” Calnan said. “An electrical contractor wants to be able to meet any need for their customers. This is why we created a full portfolio for them of cost-effective LED lamps that deliver high-quality light from practically every socket.”
