At the 2016 International Builders’ Show, HOUZZ released its U.S. Kitchen Trends Study, and among the many findings was this nugget: One-third of homeowners who upgrade their appliances during a remodel select appliances with high-tech features such as built-in apps and wireless controls.
The findings weren’t all that surprising. Technology is spreading like a weed in home building, and the appliance category is fertile ground. Consumers are fond of whiz-bang tech, so adding such features is a surefire way to gain attention. Is it any wonder appliance companies such as Samsung, Bosch, Whirlpool, and LG are crashing the Consumer Electronics Show (CES)?
