We asked some of the industry’s top manufacturers for a glimpse into the products they plan to showcase at the 2022 IBS/KBIS show. Here are just a few of the many innovations that will be on display during the three-day tradeshow.

Dometic, a leader in the mobile living industry since 1919, will be launching its new vertical, Dometic Home at its first KBIS showing this February. Dometic Home incorporates a host of products catering to indoor and outdoor residential living. Designed to entertain, MoBar from Dometic offers three models - MoBar 50, MoBar 300 and MoBar550 - each of which offers its host the perfect solution for chilling, preparing and serving beverages. MoBar 50 is perfect for compact outdoor spaces or smaller gatherings; featuring a spacious rotomolded presentation basket, this solution can keep up to 22 bottles or 32 cans ice-cold. MoBar 300 is Dometic’s mid-sized model in the series; equipped with utensils inspired by professional bartenders, this mobile beverage solution allows for easy entertaining with its rotomolded presentation basket and a single-zone refrigerator that can hold up to 19 bottles or 70 cans. MoBar 550 is the ultimate beverage center and largest model in the series; featuring utensils inspired by professional bartenders, spacious preparation and presentation areas, a dual-zone refrigerator compartment that can hold up to 40 bottles and 155 cans and a spacious rotomolded presentation basket that can keep 22 bottles or 32 cans ice-cold.

AdvanTech X-Factor

As the latest innovation from the subflooring brand builders have trusted for more than 20 years, AdvanTech X-Factor is a new class of premium subflooring with a fade-resistant, water-shedding surface on a high-performance engineered wood panel. With a built-in protective top layer, it takes the moisture-resistance expected from an AdvanTech panel to the next level and pairs it with AdvanTech subfloor adhesive for a Squeak-Free Guarantee. Unlike common OSB and plywood panels that can show flaking, delamination or discoloration from exposure to daily jobsite stress, AdvanTech X-Factor protects the panel surface quality and appearance. EXACOR Magnesium Oxide (MgO) panels

EXACOR Magnesium oxide (MgO) panels are manufactured to provide a streamlined solution for strength, fire resistance and sound performance. MgO panels are cementitious panels that are primarily made of inorganic materials reinforced with layers of glass fiber mesh. EXACOR structural panels – now available for subfloor, subfloor underlayment and wall applications – offer a new way to achieve fire resistance and acoustical performance in multifamily and light commercial flooring assemblies. EXACOR products can be used in flooring applications as both an underlayment over traditional OSB or plywood and as a subfloor with assemblies that can meet or exceed code minimums for STC/IIC ratings for dwelling separations. In floor applications, EXACOR offers structural durability, can easily be installed by framers and eliminates the need for an additional subcontractor to pour the self-leveling gypsum underlayment commonly used in multifamily and light commercial flooring assemblies. EXACOR is also available in wall applications -  the panels provide a fire-resistant solution that may help reduce the number of layers needed in 2-hour fire-rated exterior wall assemblies for Type III Construction. They are manufactured under a quality control program with inspections by ICC-ES and Underwriters Laboratory (UL) to ensure consistent product performance. The panels exhibit structural values approaching wood sheathing with fire resistance similar to gypsum panels.

ZIP System Vapor Permeable (VP) Tape

Rounding out the ZIP System portfolio of tape and fluid-applied flashing solutions is the introduction of ZIP System Vapor Permeable (VP) Tape. The high-performing professional tape is used in panel seam sealing and flashing applications, key components of a ZIP System wall assembly using ZIP System integrated sheathing. The combination is an all-in-one structural assembly with built-in water-resistive barrier and rigid air barrier with a tape perm rating higher than standard ZIP System flashing tape for teams seeking a specific permeability in their designs4. ZIP System VP tape is available in 3.75” x 90” rolls through lumberyards and Amazon. The product rounds out a portfolio of sealing materials that include a wide variety of 15 different straight and “stretch” tapes, as well as fluid-applied flashing offerings. The new ZIP System VP Tape offers all the benefits of standard ZIP System flashing tape with a high-powered acrylic adhesive and broad temperature application range, with the added feature of a higher permeance for teams seeking to increase this factor for unique designs or environments. A potential solution for extreme climate zones or high performance assemblies often found in passive house, net zero, or other above code project certification programs, ZIP System VP Tape is a great complement to the full line of ZIP System integrated sheathing and sealing solutions.

FCB series

Infinity Drain is pleased to announce its latest innovation in bathroom drain technology, the FCB series of linear drains. Hardie Textured Panels

This year at IBS, James Hardie will debut Hardie Textured Panels, which mark the creation of a new category in home exteriors, empowering homeowners to achieve fresh looks while modernizing their home’s exterior with contemporary designs to fit any style. The panels feature an integrated solution of contemporary textured panels and metal trims which deliver on the trusted protection and lasting beauty of Hardie fiber cement siding. Low-maintenance fiber cement is made from sustainable materials (cement, sand, water, cellulose fibers), and is ideal for combatting extreme weather as it’s non-combustible and water resistant.  

Hardie Textured Panels are the James Hardie brand’s most significant expansion to date beyond wood-look designs – a direct response to consumer demand for contemporary exteriors. This product is designed for homeowners who dream about their home’s potential -- whether modern, transitional, traditional, or somewhere in-between. 

The panels launched in May of 2021, and are currently available in select markets in three striking textures: Hardie Smooth Sand Panel, Hardie Multi-Groove Panel, and Hardie Knockdown Panel. Hardie Textured Panels will be available nationwide in 2022. Additionally, Hardie Textured Panels offer exceptional installation efficiency, boasting 40-50% less labor time than traditional three-coat stucco (actual labor saving may vary based on wall complexity).

LP Legacy Premium Sub-Floor Adhesive 

LP Legacy Premium Sub-Floor Adhesive is the newest accessory in the LP Structural Solutions portfolio. The adhesive expands to create a tight seal in small gaps between sub-floor panels, and one 29 ounce can of the adhesive provides up to twelve times the coverage of a typical tube of conventional sub-floor adhesive. The 100 percent solvent-free building solution is backed by a Squeak-free Lifetime* Limited Warranty when used in LP Legacy Premium Sub-Flooring assemblies, is VOC compliant, and meets the toughest construction adhesive standard. LP Legacy Premium Sub-Floor Adhesive was engineered for innovation. This year, Top Knobs launched the Regent’s Park Collections of knobs, pulls and appliance pulls.
