As part of PRODUCTS' ongoing partnership with the Housing Innovation Alliance, an organization dedicated to connecting forward-thinking leaders in the building industry, every year the two brands team up during Design & Construction Week (that is, the International Builders' Show and the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show) to talk about the top ideas and products being showcased at that year's show. This year was no different. And as we did last year, we were also joined for these daily conversations by students from the University of Denver (DU) who are studying the very subjects we're discussing.

For this episode, PRODUCTS editor James McClister and Betsy Scott, excutive director of programs and engagement for the Alliance, were joined by students Alexis Messersmith and Ian Rogers—both of whom study at the University of Denver Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate—to talk sustainability, carbon neutrality, and forward thinking in residential construction; what they're seeing and hearing about it at the show and how those ideas and products may play into what they hope to accomplish post-graduation.
