Bath Faucet Brand Franz Viegener Introduces Its First Kitchen Collection

Franz Viegener Kitchen Collection

After almost 100 years, bath faucet manufacturer Franz Viegener has unveiled its first kitchen collection that comes in two sizes and in a selection of Physical Vapor Deposition (or PVD) finishes.

“We felt there was room in the kitchen category for a precision-engineered pro-style faucet that offered the resilient PVD finishes that we are experts at producing,” says John Weinstein, director, North America for the brand. “We’ve already received very positive feedback and we’re excited to be launching the collection this quarter.”

The company says the new kitchen collection will be the “home chef’s trusted second-in-command: a precision-engineered kitchen essential designed to meet the needs of everyone from an amateur baker to a seasoned chef de cuisine.”

The Franz Viegener Kitchen Collection is available in the standard-sized faucet and in the larger pro-style faucet. The faucet’s powerful performance is bolstered by elegantly curved modern lines, while its inherently utilitarian nature is elegantly integrated into a contemporary design that recalls the professional-grade kitchen in the home. Available finishes: polished chrome, polished and brushed nickel (PVD), polished and brushed gold (PVD), polished rose gold (PVD), polished and brushed unlacquered brass, satin black (PVD). Physical Vapor Deposition involves high-vacuum coating technology that vaporizes metals such as titanium, zirconium and chrome and condenses them onto the product's surface for the ultimate in durability and resistance to corrosion, the company explains.

“The standard-size faucet is equipped with a multi-directional pull-down hose designed to discreetly and seamlessly blend into the curved spout,” the company says. “The multi-directional pull-down hose on the pro-style faucet is enhanced by a user-friendly lever and fitted with a water-resistant and easy-grip coating for optimal comfort and ease of use.” Franz Viegner says the design of the line pro-style is carefully streamlined for optimal aesthetics and function, as compared to pro-style kitchen faucets with spring coils that are bulky and hard to clean.

Other features of the line include simple push button/trigger aerated to spray diverter; tilt-out volume control handle with forward motion temperature selection to avoid rearward interference with sill of backsplash; full-core threading and large locknut for reliable stable installation; and nylon braided pull-down hose with vacuum breaker for sanitary use. The line is available in polished chrome, polished and brushed nickel (PVD), polished and brushed gold (PVD), polished rose gold (PVD), satin black (PVD), and polished and brushed unlacquered brass.

Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Franz Viegener is  a luxury brand that competes with products such as Fantini, Dornbracht, Hansgrohe, and THG but has a more competitive price-point. The company says this is possible because they manufacture their own brass from scratch in their 800,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility. “Their reach in Latin America is comparable to what Kohler is in North America,” the company says. The company says it also has its own in-house PVD machine.

Throughout its history, the company produced only faucets and accessories for the bath, but the brand decided “to expand by crafting streamlined and architectural kitchen faucets to offer beautifully designed solutions for residential and hospitality kitchen spaces,” the company explains. “By offering the faucets in a variety of finish options, users can seamlessly match with any existing kitchen aesthetic. The available PVD finishes also offer the utmost in lasting durability, as the complex process fuses the finish to the product rather than simply covering it as with traditional powder coating methods.”

Franz Viegener opened its North American headquarters and distribution facility in Gurnee, Ill., in 2013.

Comments

This design looks nice and sleek with clean lines but not practical.
I have a similar style with faucet lever on the side and I do not like it all.
Problem: When washing hands and you want to turn the lever off, water is spilled all over counter from your wet hands and you have to wipe it down. Why, even after washing your hands ?
Preferred: The turn off lever to be in the front, so the water drips in the sink not the counter.

Suggestion: Provide design for a bidet, people don't have to hoard toilet paper and it washes clean.
Think about it.
