AGAWAM, Mass — FastenMaster, a division of OMG, Inc., will be launching several innovative new products at this year’s NAHB International Builders’ Show, January 31 – February 2, booth C9325, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
FastenMaster will be featuring two new additions to its fastener line: the VersaLOK Structural Wood Screw, and the MVP Multipurpose Wood Screw. VersaLOK is a highly versatile fastener that provides the strength of a ½-inch lag bolt, with the installation ease and speed of a LOK. VersaLOK is a flat head, heavy-duty wood screw available in 6-, 8- and 10-inch lengths, does not require predrilling, offers higher design shear strength than ½-inch lag bolts, and has a TORX ttap drive system for stable installation. In addition, the fastener is IBC/IRC code compliant, provides ProjectLife coating guaranteed for the life of the project, and is great for angle bracing, retaining walls, and carrying beam connections.
The new MVP Multipurpose Wood Screw is designed for framing, cabinetry, and other wood-to-wood applications. MVP fasteners are IRC/IBC code compliant and feature a TORX ttap drive. MVP also has FastenMaster’s exclusive SureSink Head to prevent spin outs, ProjectLife Coating for superior corrosion resistance, and a SureStart Point PRESS RELEASE for easy installation. The 10-gauge MVP fasteners are available in lengths from 1½ through 4-inches, and packaged in small job, PRO-Packs, and in bulk quantities.
In addition to these new fasteners, the company will also be highlighting the recently introduced TrussBRACE roof truss support. The TrussBRACE (shown left) system enables framers to set, space and brace roof trusses in one easy step, for increased jobsite productivity. The patented steel roof truss support provides both lateral and diagonal restraint in one brace. Since TrussBRACE units are installed while standing on the bottom chord of the truss, there’s less climbing which makes installation safer, and eliminates the need for temporary top chord bracing that must be removed prior to sheathing the roof.
