Introducing the World's First Tool That Cuts Square Holes

A London-based start-up says it has created the world’s first tool that can drill a perfectly square hole into a wall.

A London-based start-up says it has created the world’s first tool that can drill a perfectly square hole into a wall.

“This is the first product in the world that can truly drill a square hole,” said designer Michael Sebhatu, co-founder of Genius IP. “The uniqueness of it is not just that it cuts the hole perfectly, but that it does so with total ease and minimal mess, making life easier for anyone who is using it.”

Designed with electricians in mind, the Quadsaw is a drill-attached tool featuring a unique four-blade design; the blades work in tandem to cut square holes with minimal dust and absolute precision.

“For years, electricians have struggled with rulers, pencils, and handsaws to cut holes in walls for electrical sockets and other boxes,” the company says. “This method lacks accuracy, creates mess, and can take over five minutes to cut a single hole.”

With the new tool, no marking or measuring is required. That’s because the tool has built-in spirit levels, a ruler, and a height gauge, making the job easy.

Quadsaw is compatible with most drills. The tool is not yet available in the U.S. market.
