Lennox has added high-performance residential heat pumps to its Merit and Elite brands.
The new Merit brand ML14XP1 single-stage heat pump features a seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) of up to 14 and a heating seasonal performance factor (HSPF) of 9.00. The Elite brand EL15XP1 High Efficient single-stage offers up to 16 SEER and an HSPF rating of 9.00.

Lennox says the new ML14XP1 is an affordable heat pump option. When installed with a compatible Lennox furnace, the ML14XP1 is dual-fuel compatible and can switch between electricity and gas for cost and energy efficiency. Meanwhile, the EL15YP1 weighs less than Lennox’s other offerings, making installation quicker and safer, the company says. The scroll compressor also includes a sound-dampening system for homeowner comfort.
Both new heat pumps feature the Lennox’s Quantum Coil, made from an aluminum alloy designed to be longer lasting and resistant to corrosion. The company says the new design makes heat pumps “longer-lasting, higher-performing, and more dealer-friendly.”

“These new products are the latest examples of Lennox’ pledge to technological leadership and its ability to deliver unparalleled efficiency and comfort to homeowners no matter their budget, as well as equipment that is safer and easier for dealers and contractors to install and service,” says John Whinery, vice president of product management at Lennox Industries.
Later this year, Lennox will also introduce the Elite EL16XP1 and the Merit ML16XP1 heat pumps, which also will feature the Quantum Coil.
