HVAC accessory manufacturer Marketair now offers SnowShield, a Canadian innovation for HVAC weather protection.
SnowShield is a lightweight mini-split condenser canopy for protection against snow, ice, debris, and direct sunlight. The product is manufactured by Canada-based Able Canvas and exclusively imported by Marketair.
The rounded top of SnowShield is made of sturdy vinyl-covered aircraft-grade aluminum, which resists corrosion, holds up to 350 pounds of snow build-up, and leaves room for full airflow. SnowShield improves heating and cooling efficiency over exposed units, Marketair claims.
SnowShield is available in three sizes and can be used with all mini-split HVAC brands. The HPS-1 covers 9,000 to 15,000 BTU/hr condensers with a maximum size of 26 inches by 34 inches 18 inches; the HPS-2 can be used with 18,000 to 24,000 BTU/hr units with a maximum size of 34 inches by 38 inches by 18 inches; and the HPS-3 is for 30,000 to 60,000-BTU/hr unit with a maximum condenser size of 56 inches by 38 inches by 18 inches. The shield mounts to condenser wall brackets, support stands, or pads and is available in black, gray, or tan.
The collapsable unit ships with mounting hardware and instructions. SnowShield comes with a full two year warranty.
