Door manufacturer Simpson has introduced a new line of extra large doors that can be made in sizes up to 12 feet tall and 10 feet wide.
“These beautiful, oversized doors aren’t just space dividers; they’re functional pieces of art,” says Brad Loveless, marketing and product development manager for the company. “They make a stunning visual impact in the home—open or closed. It’s amazing to see what our customers dream up.”
The oversized Monster Doors collecton, the manufacturer says, addresses the need for larger and more personalized spaces in the home. Available in many wood species and designs, the doors can be mounted on popular alternative hardware, such as barn track or contemporary pivot swing.
“We recently had a door come in that was 8 feet wide by 12 feet tall,” Loveless continues. “It seems that each time we set a parameter for how big a door can be, a customer challenges us to go beyond.”
Monster Doors not only come in XL sizes, they are also designed to withstand the challenges of everyday life, Simpson says.
“Each Monster Door is evaluated by Simpson engineering to ensure it is being manufactured in the most stable and enduring way possible, delivering the design freedom customers want with the reliability and performance they have come to expect from Simpson,” the company adds.
Doors are available for both interior and exterior applications.
Giant doors were trending at this year's International Builders' Show (watch video here), where many manufacturers introduced new prodcuts in this category.
