Victoria + Albert Develops System Offering Tub Flood Protection

Designed to add peace of mind in the bathroom, Victoria + Albert has unveiled the Kit 40 Intelli Waste system that uses magnetic technology to provide flood protection for its freestanding tubs that do not have a pre-drilled overflow.

“We are incredibly proud to introduce the Kit 40 Intelli Waste system to America and Canada,” says Eric Phelps, president of sales for Victoria + Albert. “It’s the first time a product like this has been available in the market, and it gives our customers one less thing to worry about in today’s busy world.”

Intended for freestanding tubs, Kit 40 works just like a standard “click clack” drain, except the concealed system uses water pressure to sense rising water levels. When the depth of the water reaches 15 inches, the system triggers the plug to open, allowing water to escape and avoiding a flood.

“Once the faucet has been safely turned off, the water depth continues to drain to 11 inches and then automatically reseals, allowing the bather to enjoy a deep and luxurious soak,” the company explains.

Easy to install with no visible overflow pipes, the Intelli Waste system removes water at up to 9½ gallons per minute. The system is an option on all Victoria + Albert freestanding tubs without a predrilled overflow.
