Model Home Visualization Tools Enhance Product Selection

GoTour digital home visualization system

Avid Ratings has upgraded its GoTour digital home visualization system with new features that make the home-touring process even more engaging while providing buyers with easy access to thousands of products.

The GoTour tool takes home buyers on a virtual tour of model homes via the builder’s website or a mobile app on site, providing a more immersive experience. According to Avid Ratings, using GoTour helps builders increase home sales by 20 percent and online visitation time by more than 300 percent.

Now, the company is enhancing how buyers learn about and select product options. “We really have shifted focus to look at what is the experience when a buyer is present at a builder’s model,” says Paul Cardis, founder and CEO of Avid Ratings. “We’ve added a couple of features that really look at the on-site experience versus just the offsite digital experience.”

Enhancements to the on-site virtual tour experience include:

  • GoTour tags: Builders can generate GoTour tags for any product in GoTour; homeowners can then scan the tags as they tour the model home in person to bring up details, videos, and more. The tags are tied to more than 1.2 million manufacturer SKUs, so builders can serve up data for nearly any product available for the home.
  • Customized brochure creator: As customers tour the model home with the GoTour on a tablet, they can pull up products that are available but not shown in the model. Selections can be saved and then summarized into a one-click brochure that can be printed or emailed.
  • Virtual reality: GoTours can now be viewed through a VR headset. “It’s very immersive,” Cardis explains. “When you put on a VR headset it’s a different experience than something you view on a computer screen.”

In addition, the company now offers CGI modeling, in which Avid can take CAD drawings and build a realistic digital model that can be viewed in virtual reality. So even if a model doesn’t exist, buyers can experience the look and feel of the home.
